Officers:

Steven Winters – President

Steve joined the Board of the Rancho Santa Fe Garden Club in 2019 and became President in August 2021. Steve received a B.S. in Economics from Cornell University in 1991 and began his career in corporate finance where he specialized in raising capital and providing advisory services for mergers and acquisitions. Currently he is the President & CEO of both Gemini Finance Corp., founded in 2012, and Gemini Strategies Inc., founded in 2003. For the last 16 years, Steve has resided in Olivenhain with his wife, Carrie, and two daughters. He enjoys spending time tending to his rose garden and working with succulents.

Donna Duval – Secretary

Donna received her B.S. in Nursing, from Oregon Health Sciences University, and a Master’s in Nursing from the University of Washington. She worked as a Nurse Practitioner for many years and was also a pharmaceutical sales representative. She has recently been certified to teach Ayurvedic Lifestyle and meditation, and is certified through Chopra as a Total Well-being Coach. She enjoys helping people become as healthy as they can be in a more natural way. Donna volunteers at Bloom Again, the RSFGC resale shop, and loves to work in her small garden. She has several rose bushes and belongs to the Del Mar Rose Society. She also loves to travel, golf, hike and recently added lawn bowling to her list.

Natalie Kaczur – Executive Director

Natalie comes to the Garden Club with a background in non-profit organizational management. She most recently served as the Executive Director for the Southern California Region III of the American College of Physicians, an educational organization for Internists. She has worked in the healthcare industry for over 20 years for Sharp HealthCare/ Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group. She resides in Harmony Grove with her husband, Greg, a retired Captain for the Solana Beach Fire Department. They have two grown daughters and a granddaughter. They share their home with 11 chickens, four dogs, two Indian Ringneck parrots and a reef tank, and take pride in tending to their two acres of lawn and gardens. In her spare time, Natalie enjoys gardening, jazzercise, travel, spending time with her family, and crafting.

Directors:

Marianne Brigham

Marianne moved to Santaluz from the East Coast five years ago. She is a graduate of King’s College with a BS in Health Care Management. Marianne’s corporate experience includes Managed Care Sales and Marketing for both US Healthcare and Aetna. Before arriving in San Diego her volunteer experience in New Jersey included conducting public programs for The Seeing Eye, a “welcome guide” at the Environmental Education Center, and a docent at the Visual Arts Center. Here in San Diego, she has been a Board member for the Santaluz Community Council fostering resident activities and philanthropic endeavors and is a peer group facilitator for the San Diego Children’s Bereavement Program, a support program for children and adults. Marianne and her husband, Brendan, have three adult children and are enjoying raising “Alfie,” a  puppy for the Guide Dogs of America.  A member of the RSF Garden Club for several years, she enjoys gardening and learning about the wonderful, local non profit organizations through the Garden Club Grant Program

Adrienne Falzon

Adrienne lives in Rancho Santa Fe, California and Southampton, New York with her husband Manny. Together they have seven sons who live in various parts of the country with their families. Adrienne has a Masters in Reading Education and was a teacher for many years. Upon retirement, she began writing children’s books and a biography on one of her sons who passed away. Adrienne participates in many local organizations in addition to serving on the RSFGC board. She loves the RSF Garden Club because “it’s a fabulous combination of education, socialization, and philanthropy” and she encourages everyone she meets to join the Club. She is especially proud of her granddaughter, Olivia Giaccio, a mogul skier who participated in the recent winter Olympics and placed in the final 6!

Katie Fish

Katie moved from the Midwest to Rancho Santa Fe after she and her husband retired. Katie graduated from Wayne State University with a teaching degree and went on to earn a master’s degree from Michigan State University. Katie taught elementary education for 30 years. Katie has volunteered for several nonprofits chairing committees and fundraising events. Currently, she is part of the management team at the Assistance League Thrift Shop in Encinitas. Her love of gardening expanded after moving to California and being able to garden all year long.  She enjoys her roses and succulents have become her new interest as they are unique and water-wise. For Katie, the most important aspect of the Garden Club is their philanthropic program that provides grants to community groups involved in some aspect of horticulture, conservation and community service. “The Garden Club is a place to give back to the community, learn and make new friends.”

Patti Gethin

Patti has been a member of the Garden Club for the past several years and currently serves on the Board of Directors and as Co-Chair of the Grant Committee, which has been an especially rewarding experience for her. Patti has a BS in Nursing from the University of Kansas, and an advanced degree in Healthcare Management from St. Louis University.  She has worked in both inpatient and outpatient clinical care settings and served administratively as a Nursing Case Manager. Her volunteer experience includes Red Cross, Junior League, and as a Board member for the Santaluz Community Council. Patti settled in San Diego 15 years ago after having lived in 13 other states. She is widowed and has two grown sons and five grandchildren. In her leisure time, Patti enjoys travelling, spending time with her family and friends, and keeping up with her active labradoodle, “Finnegan.”

Diane Moreno

Diane was born and raised in Wisconsin and moved to San Diego 38 years ago where she raised her two children. Her previous career was in the financial and mortgage banking field where she worked for over 20 years. She currently works as a professional fiduciary providing guidance and support to seniors and the aging community. Her past volunteer work includes the planning committee of the San Diego Food and Wine Festival, the annual conference for the Professional Fiduciary’s Association, the fund-raising committee for United Cerebral Palsy’s Celebrity Waiters Luncheon, and CCSA—a community-based charity providing goods and services to the homeless. Besides being an active volunteer at Bloom Again for the past year, she enjoys gardening, cooking, and traveling in her free time.

Nique Waluk

Nique, a native Californian, moved to San Diego from the Bay area. She brings a wealth of experience in working with the non-profit community. Most recently, she served two consecutive terms as Board President of the Santaluz Community Council, an organization that sponsors activities, events, and clubs intended to foster community among the residents. Through Helen Woodward Animal Shelter, she has volunteered for several years in their Pet Therapy Program. Prior to retirement, Nique worked for over 30 years in Human Resources for several start-up corporations. She also volunteered with Guide Dogs for the Blind in the Bay area and has been an avid gardener since childhood. She and her husband of 49 years, Jan, have spent the past 18 years living in Santaluz.
